Emma Notarfrancesco from Drive was immediately impressed with the 2021 Range Rover Evoque, describing it as “one of the more posh-looking cars in the luxury SUV segment”, pointing out that “it’s not just its style that’s worth boasting about, it’s a pragmatic vehicle too”. While previous customers were overwhelmed by an extensive and complicated line-up, she’s pleased the new Evoque range has been refined to offer four variants, and all with the stylish R-Dynamic design features fitted as standard.
A Swanky, Premium Interior
Emma felt at home in the Range Rover Evoque, remarking that “it all looks rather swanky with its sloped dash and premium-looking materials throughout, including leather seats and gloss trims.” The steering wheel had a real presence, with touch buttons that not only looked plush but were easy to use. Her passengers found the back seats extremely comfy and overall Emma “really enjoyed sitting inside this cabin…it’s plush, stylish, comfortable and has just enough space”.
The new Pivi Pro entertainment system scored top marks as “a real asset” to the car, allowing simultaneous Bluetooth connection with two phones, integrated Spotify with music streaming, and over-the-air software updates via an in-built data connection. The layout “looks really snazzy” and the placement and size of the controls are all designed perfectly. The 180W sound system also delivers great quality, and “the camera is exceptional with both on- and off-road views, and with 3D capability it made parking in tighter spots a lot easier”.
Exceptional Handling
The 2021 Evoque packs a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel mild-hybrid engine paired to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and sends power to all four wheels. When Emma kicked the car into Sport mode and engaged the paddles she enjoyed the dynamic drive, in addition to the cruising nature of Comfort mode along the freeway. She also noted the “suspension was decent and supple enough to handle rougher surfaces. The steering light, and handling exceptional, with the Evoque able to glide easily through tighter corners”.
After experiencing the 2021 Range Rover Evoque, Emma concluded the vehicle “is a stylish, sophisticated and good-looking SUV”, and its latest upgrades have made it even better. Praising the practicality of a car she would recommend to a friend, she finished by saying, “It’s packed with safety, great tech, and has all the attributes for a superb medium SUV.”
