“Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date, and begins a new age of open-top, super-luxury motoring. Dawn is a beautiful new motor car that offers the most uncompromised open-top motoring experience in the world. It will be the most social of super-luxury drophead motor cars for those who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s most exclusive social hotspots.

Quite simply, it is the sexiest Rolls-Royce ever built.”

So declared Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars when he officially unveiled Dawn, a full-four seater super-luxury drophead “connecting to younger aspirations”.

Rolls-Royce Dawn draws inspiration from the 1952 Silver Dawn drophead, a beacon of light emerging from a period of post-war austerity. Only 28 were ever produced, and Dawn continues this tradition of the extremely rare with 80% unique body panels, but it also delivers a new definition of what a super-luxury four-seater convertible motor car should be.

Aesthetically, Dawn is strikingly distinctive; its Mandarin leather interior is offset by fine wood panelling and the exterior bodywork is finished in Midnight Sapphire.

Its 6.6L V12 engine delivers 563 brake horsepower to specially developed tyres to ensure the effortless ‘magic carpet’ ride each Rolls-Royce owner expects. To further benefit the drive, Dawn uses GPS satellite-aided 8-speed transmission to select gears according to approaching changes in terrain.

Unlike other convertibles, the comfort of back seat passengers has not compromised. Rear passengers enjoy the same leg room as found in Wraith in Rolls-Royce’s determination to “accept nothing nearly right or good enough”.

Rolls-Royce Dawn is also the quietest open top car ever made. Using a combination of aerodynamic design and a ‘French seam’ to provide a perfectly smooth roof, the cabin is as quiet as a Wraith with the soft top down. Additionally, the top can be raised and lowered in almost complete silence in just over 20 seconds at up to 50kph.
